Simple Layered Card

Hi Stampers!  Can you belive it?  I know, right?!?  Another post so soon?  Well, just call me Butter cuz I'm on a roll.  Hahaha!  I crack myself up, sometimes!

I hope you enjoyed my first video.  I have jumped in the deep end and made another.  This one shows how simple it is to make a layered card.  Let me know what you think of this one.

Hi Stampers!  Long time no see.  Sorry about that.  Life keeps getting in the way of my stamping time.  I finally took the plunge and shot a video.  I decided to start with some VERY basic instctions like cutting cardstock into a card base.  I'd love for you to take a look and let me know how you like it.  {but please be nice.  It is my first video...}

Not Really a Valentine, Yet...

Hi, Stampers!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  It was way too busy in my world.  There were chores to do, errands to run, and my dad is in the hospital.  But I did mange to have some time to stamp.

My gals were scheduled to come stamps this weekend.  It was a lot of fun, and I really needed the time to relax a bit.  If you weren't here, you missed a lot of fun and some cute (imho) projects.

Here is the "Not Really a Valentine" card we made.  I totally got this idea from the Occasions Mini catty.  I also saw a video on how to make the medallion here on Christina Bagne's blog.

What a fun card.  I thought that image in this stamp set *could* be for a Valentine card, but it could be for everyday, too.  The spinner hands make it so much more fun!  They are so reasonable, too!  You get 12 for $3.95!  What a deal!

August projects

First up is a 6X6 scrapbook page.  I know this is something different for us, but it was really a lot of fun.  Try it, you might like it.

Next we have a matchbox with a sparkly vellum slide cover and some gorgeous DSP wrapped chocolates!  MMMM, what could be better?

And finally a refreshing card made with the hostess set, Because I Care.  This one is one of my favorites.  I thought a simple card in Pear Pizzaz and Whisper White with just a touch of Blushing Bride.

Playing with leftovers

No, I don't mean playing with your food.  I meant playing with left over pieces from my project for a shoebox swap I am participating in this weekend!  What is a shoebox swap, you wonder.  Well, it is where a group a stampers each create a project, prep the materials and put it all in a shoebox to carry to the location where they all gather.  The shoeboxes are then passed around and everyone makes one of the projects.  If that sounds like fun to you, you need to contact me right away about joining my Stampin' Up! team!  We do all kinds of fun things like that.

Oh!  Some of you want to see what I did with my leftovers!  I had some Top Note die cuts left so I played with them and came up with this.

I got some of the new pearl accents and they are so pretty.  You get 50 each of 3 sized and 3 strips of connected pearls to make spacing a non-issue.  that is what I used around the bottom right edge of the Top Note,  If you can't see it very well, just click on the picture to make it bigger.

Cards, cards and more cards

Hello, stampers. I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. I had a busy but good weekend. I have several cards to show you. Some fun, and some not so fun to make. Let's start with a more fun one.

A couple of the ladies on my Yahoo group, Late Night Stampers (for more information on this group, click the owl on my side bar) asked for some of us to send cards to friends that needed a pick-me-up. this first one is a "thoughts and prayers" kind of card. It is a really simple one. Cardstock: Whisper White, Rose Red, Good

This next one is a birthday card for another lady that needs a pick-me-up. I thought a bright cheery card might do the trick. This one makes me smile every time I look at it.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Summer Sun, Pixie Pink

Ink: Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Summer Sun, Pixie Pink

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Fox and Friends

The next 2 cards are sympathy cards for one of my friends at work and her sister. Their grandmother passed away, and my friends sister was raised by the grandmother, so even though I haven't yet met her, I thought I should make her a card. I decided to make them similar but different. They both use the same cardstock, stamp set and ink, but different ribbon and layout.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Dusty Durango, Garden Green

Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Basic Brown

Stamp set: Three Little Words

Ribbon: Very Vanilla satin ribbon/Always Artichoke 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon

I also took a card to work for my boss' birthday this past week, but you have already seen it here. That is 7 of the 30 items I am doing this month.

Next is to make a surprise for the charter meeting of my monthly stamping club. I hope they like it! I'm not telling what it is because some of them read this blog... So...if you'd like to find out first hand what this surprise is and you are in the OKC metro area, I still have a couple of spaces available in my club. Email me and let me know you are interested! WHEW!!! What a couple of weeks!

Hi, stampers. I know I've been MIA for a while. Life was busy. But I'm back tonight and I have a surprise! I finally got my copy of My Digital Studio and I have to say IT ROCKS OUT LOUD!!!


Here is my card that I made to complete my certification.
I'm here to tell you that this is one EASY program to use. I've made this card, started a calender, and only have one more quiz to finish my certification! It's been a blast!

Let me know what you think. I can hardly wait to get my card from Stampin' Up!'s professional printing service! I can't wait until I have time to make more cards and finish my calendar. It may just be a Christmas gift for my DH!

Well. it is late and I have been working my little fingers to the bone (if only it had all been on stamping and MDS...) Ah well, such is life. :)

This week's LNS challenge

Our challenge this week was to make something using our chalk pastels. I made this card. I stamped my rooster with Basic Brown and then colored him in with chalks and a Blender Pen. I thought he turned out pretty. I added a bit of piercing in two of the corners for some interest and mounted that on Chocolate Chip. My nifty background paper is Creamy Carmel stamped with the Sweet Swirls wheel and Chocolate Chip ink. I added some gold brads, some Very Vanilla 1/4" ribbon and the sentiment from the same stamp set as the rooster, Country Morning, which is a level one hostess gift. I hope you like it. I was going for a rustic look. Let me know how I did and remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

411's 114 with Dasher

Hello, Stampers! Here is my entry for Stamping 411's sketch challenge 114. I got this stamp recently and haven't had a chance to use it. I saw this challenge and thought it to be the perfect opportunity. I do see that I need to work on my photography skills as the whole top of the card looks crooked. I promise it really isn't! LOL

I stamped Dasher with Versa Mark on Night of Navy and heat set him with white EP. I then layered on a torn piece of SAB DSP that has always looked like snowflakes to me, added a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes (also white EP) and a Night of Navy faux bow. Quick and easy. Just the way I like them!

Saturday Sketch Challenge 108

Here is the sketch for this week over at Stamping 411 and my interpretation of it. I had a LOT of "blank" space so I chose a "busier" DSP for my background. I took the liberty of enlarging my images by quite a bit and punched my image to attach it. I didn't have any Tempting Turquoise paper, so I sponged some Whisper White with the ink and punched it out with the scalloped circle punch. The flowers are stamped with Green Galore and the Polka Dot Punch stamp set from SAB 2009. The sentiment is from sweet Little Sentiments and the DSP is Sweet Slumber (both which retired 7/1/09). I thnk it looks better IRL. The camera really washed the color out of this one! Let me know what you think, and remember, If I can stamp, you can, too!

Cool border punch technique

Hello, everyone! I hope you had a great week and are looking forward to an even better weekend. I've been home this week on vacation. You know, the kind that means you just don't go to work... We did have fun, though. We took the kids to see fireworks and to a theme park, cooked hot dogs on the grill, ate watermelon out in the backyard. You know, all the fun summertime stuff.

Here's a card I made this morning. My DD is always asking me if I "thought that up myself or did somebody else do it first?" so.....

I got a new border punch and I wasn't happy with the way it was punching. I was messing around with it and said to myself "Hey, self," I said. "That looks pretty cool. I wonder what you could do with that?" I'm sure I'm not the first person that has done this, but I can say that I hadn't seen it somewhere before I made this card. That made DD quite happy. She told me it was "WAY COOL, Mom!" Leave me a comment and let me know if you like it.
