After a long sabbattical...

I know I have been gone for ever, but I'm still kicking.  It has just been a really busy summer.  We didn't sustain massive tornado damage, but did have to have a new roof and have our truck repaired.  We finally got our truck back Friday!

On to more fun topics.  Like stamping!!  The new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog is out and it has some great things in it.  One of them is banner kits.  Yes!  Kits!  The banners are made of canvas and have brass eyelets in them for stringing.  You can get a kit with stencils, and a couple of embellishment kits for decorating a banner for Halloween or Christmas.  I chose a couple of kits.  I just had to have the stencils and went with Halloween.

I had a blast putting this together.  I tried both spritzing and daubing ink on the background stencils.  Daubing worked better for me, but you may like spritzing.  The canvas pieces are 5"X7" and make quite a nice sized banner as you can see.

The Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit (132698 $9.99) comes with all kinds of fun things.  Paper and centers for 4 rosettes, w glittered die cut accents, 5 black faceted buttons, 5 Summer Starfruit buttons and ribbon galore!!

The kit with the stencils is called Build A Banner Simply Created Kit (133507 $19.99) comes with 18 canvas banners, 6 each of three designs, 9' of jute twine, a Stampin' Spritzer, and image and alphabet stencils.

You can also purchase more canvas banners (18) and twine with the Banner Simply Created Kit (132699 $9.99).

Spooky Sponging (or September class)

Hi, Stampers!  What do you think of this cute little trio of projects?  Can you see what they all have in common?  That's right!  Sponging!!  I had a lot of fun thinking up the projects for my September class.  I guess you can tell it is Halloween themed.  And the technique focus this month is sponging.

Each of the projects has been sponged on the edges, the surface, or both.  It adds so much texture and depth to your projects and is quite simple. And so much fun!!!

If you'd be interested in making these three projects and having some fun with ink and sponges, join me for a class on Sunday afternoon, September 16, 2012 at 3pm.  The cost is $15 to make all three projects.  As always, space is limited, so please RSVP no later than 5pm on Friday, September 14th.  You can either email me at tabray@sbcglobal.net or call me.

Trick or TREATS!

I wanted to share a quick and cute treat holder I made for a group of ladies to put together the other night.  They are newer stampers and just loved this idea.  I loved the treat holder on page 10 of the Holiday Mini, but do not own that die, so I improvised, changed the decorations and colors and VOILA!

We decorated with punch art rather than stamps as I am sadly lacking in Haloween stamps.  I thought they turned out cute.  I think a couple of the ladies liked them, too, since I overheard one tell the other that SHE was making them for the office.

We all had a great time.  I look forward to stamping with that group again soon!

Until next time, remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

Pumpkin Basket

I've been meaning to try one of these cute pumpkin baskets made out of the pillow box die, and I finally found time today. I first saw this design on Gretchen's blog and she stated she found it on Lynn Putt's blog. It was a lot of fun to make. I changed the face to yellow as if it were lit from within and to work with bits and pieces of punches that I have. My DD oohed and ahhhed at it, so I guess I did alright. LOL Until next time!
