A sweet spring card

One of my co-workers has decided to leave us for another department in our organization, and this is the card she will get tomorrow. I know purple is her favorite, so that's what I worked around. I stamped some flowers, added a few die cut butterflies, a scallop border and a sentiment.

Everyone is bringing finger foods for her last day, too. I think it will be a lot of fun. We'll miss her even if she is just going upstairs.

More Craft Fair Items

Hello Stamper Friends! I hope you had a wonderful Monday. Mine was not too bad. I guess the long weekend did me good! I did get quite a bit of organizing and stamping/creating done. I'm trying to get ready for a spring craft fair on April 30.

Here are my latest creations. I found some picture frames at the dollar store and thought they'd be fun to dress up. I did this pretty pink one first and like it so much, I wished the DSP was current so I could enter it into the challenge over at Late Night Stampers. It was all about punches last week. Anyway, I ended up making another out of current Stampin' Up! products as that is the rule over there. All current Stampin' Up! products only.

This lovely pink one uses last years Raspberry Tart paper. I think it is sooooo pretty. I guess you can see I'm still on a paper flower kick. hee hee! These are made out of vellum and sponged with Regal Rose ink






This second one is covered in our ever lovely Cottage Walls DSP. I added more vellum flowers sponged in Rich Razzleberry. The phrase is from the Razzle Dazzle stamp set. I thought it turned out pretty, too, even if I did shabby it up a bit. I found an old picture of my 2 oldest boys. Look, the little one has on daddy's shoes and socks! LOL Of course they are both grown now, but it was a fun trip down memory lane just so one of the frames had a picture in it.

I know, I know. Some days I'm too silly for words! Oh well, at least I have fun! That's it for tonight. I hope you guys have a great week! I know I will be glad when it's stamping time again. Finished at last!

Hi, Stampers! I know I promised I would share the project I teased you with on this post. I finally finished it. Here it is in part of it's glory. I am only showing a couple of the letters, but it's enough for you to get the idea. I hope you like it as much as DD did! She even re-arranged her wall decorations to give it a place of honor!

Fun Paper Flowers

I saw some great flowers done by another Stampin' Up demo, Lee Conrey and they were beautiful. She said she used an old cookbook. Well I like my old cookbooks, so I used a magazine and a PHONE BOOK!!! How green is that?!? Seems like I get a new phonebook on my porch every few weeks. They were really stacking up, but now I can turn them into beautiful flowers! All it takes is a Scallop Circle punch from Stampin' Up!, a little ink, a Stampin' Sponge, and a brad. Voila! A flower as pretty as can be!

Sunday Afternoon and Blog Candy

I told you I'd let you know what my sister and I were up to yesterday afternoon. She came over and we (she, me and DD) stamped and talked and ate and stamped and laughed. It was a lot of fun!

Sis was tired of the boring ugly white showing when her work ID flipped over, SO....she created this insert to go behind her ID in the plastic holder. Isn't it gorgeous? It makes me wish my
work ID was in a pouch. However, I have to swipe mine to get through doors, so no pouch. :(

DD was working on valentines to take to her friends at school. I admit I did help her a bit, but she chose colors and worked really hard on these great candy treats. She and I took turns running the cardstock through the Big Shot with the Matchbox Die. She assembled all the bases and I punched hearts out of the sliding cover. She put the candy in and put the cover on. I think she did a great job, don't you?!?

I spent part of my time working on a project that is not quite finished. I'm going to tease you with a sneak peek. Can you guess what I'm using to make it? Here's the deal. Name 3 Stampin' Up! items from this photo and I'll put your name in a drawing for my very first Blog Candy! Heart Matchboxes with the Big Shot

This is what my DD and I worked on this weekend. It was a busy weekend, but we got Valentine treats made. We (meaning she) picked some colors of cardstock and we took turns cranking it through the Big Shot. She assembled most of the box bases while I punched hearts and assembled the slide on cover. She filled them with conversation hearts and had a great time mixing up the base and cover colors. All in all it was a wonderful project to share with her, and now we don't have to worry about Valentines for her friends! Yea!

I also spent part of today playing with paper crafts with my sister, but I'll show you those pictures later.

I've heard it very likely is going to snow here again tomorrow, but for now it's just rain. Try to stay warm and dry wherever you are and remember-if I can stamp, you can, too!

Another Crazy Day

Good morning, Stampers! It is snowing again! I can't believe it. All the schools are closed, and so is my work. DH had to go in, but *I* don't!

I thought I'd share a tiny little thank you note that I made for my newest customer and friend. Hi, Sherri! Hope you are enjoying your new stamps!

I made this cute little 3x3 card to slip into her order, just so she knows that I appreciate her business. I used some of the SAB Good Neighbor paper pad layered onto Bermuda Bay cardstock. I stamped the larges stamp from Three Little Words, and then used the "thanks so much" stamp from the Tiny Tags stamp set to complete the phrase. I punch out the thanks and one Bermuda Bay and one Melon Mambo tag with the new Medium Jewelry Tag punch. I used the paper piercer to make a hole in the 3 tags and threaded some crochet threat through them and attached it to the card. I thought it turned out cute. I hope she liked it. First Post of the New Year

Hi, Stampers! I am going to try to post more often this year. It is one of my goals for this year. Sale-a-Bration has started! Here are a couple of cards that feature some of the new items. I made them for a swap and since I have received all my cards, I figure everyone has my cards, too. Now I can share without spoiling any surprises. I used the Movers and Shapers Die for the Big Shot for the pink card, along with the Vintage Labels stamp set from the Sale-a-Bration Catty. The black and vanilla card were made with the I {heart} Hearts stamp set from the Occasions Mini, along with the super yummy Real Red satin ribbon. I don't think you can see the glitter on the hearts, but the patterned ones on the right have glitter. Very sparkly IRL. The punch used along the edge is the free punch in the Sale-a-bration catalog. I told you it was pretty. There is a matching corner punch in the Occasions mini!

Well I guess that's about it for today. Try to stay warm! It's been hard to do here. It was 12 when I left for work this morning and is supposed to be colder tonight! Great weather for staying in and stamping. Remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

Snowed In!

Good morning, Stampers! I trust everyone had a fabulous Christmas. I sure did, despite being snowed in. We had 14" of the white stuff in the OKC metro on the 24th. While that may not seem like mammoth amounts to some of you, you would have to know that we only have a few snowplows for the whole state! Most everything is closed down if we get much more than 2-3" here. Here's a picture from my front door and one from the driveway.

Enough about snow. I wanted to show you what I made for our office gift exchange.

I also made her one of my "white boards" with the Upsy Daisy image. I used her favorite color and personalized the scratch pad holder with her first name. I thought it made a nice gift and several of the ladies oohed and aah ed over it.

Well, stampers, I have swap cards to make that absolutely HAVE to be in the mail (and overnight ed) by Monday. It has indeed been the season for procrastination! I have one of the two cards designed, but that's as far as I've gotten. At least I have all of next week off to enjoy time with my family before heading back to work!

Dry Erase Tiles

I have had several emails asking me for directions on the tiles I posted yesterday, so .... I thought I'd post the directions here for all of you!

I used glazed tiles that measure 6"X8" from the local hardware store. I rubbed the tile with my Embossing Buddy so I didn't have extra EP stick to the tile. (If this does happen, you can scrape it off with a razor blade/craft knife.) Next I stamped my tile with the image and Classic Stampin' Pads. I have discovered that line images work better than bold images as the bold images tend to look "gloopy". You do have to be very careful to stamp straight down and lift straight up because the ink will smear pretty easily since the tile is glazed. However, if you do have a smearing situation, the ink will wipe right off with a little spritz of Stampin' Mist and a paper towel (which is why you HAVE to use embossing powder on this project). Once you have your image stamped, sprinkle with clear EP and tap off the excess. (I blew on mine after that, just to be sure all the excess had been removed.) Then heat in a 350 degree oven for 10-15 minutes. Remove with pot holders as they will be VERY hot. I put mine on racks to cool and they did this much more quickly than I though they would. It took about 15 or so minutes for them to be cool enough to handle. I then tied some ribbon around them and set them in the little easels I bought at the dollar store.

OH! I covered the dry erase markers with DSP and/or copy paper stamped to match the color of my image while the tiles were heating/cooling. I used 2 stips of Sticky Strip to adhere the paper to the markers. Voila! A quick gift that looks great! And the great thing about these is you can get several of them ready all at once and stick them in the oven together!

To be BUSY!!! Sorry I have neglected you guys for so long. I have been busy both creating and with life. Here's a couple of samples of a project I've been working on. I hope you like them. As promised, my Christmas card

Good morning, Stampers. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I sure did! We cooked and ate and visited. Yesterday DH and I hit the sales at 4 am. I couldn't believe that most of the items we wanted were ALREADY GONE!!! Oh well. I guess that is just God's way of saying, "You really didn't need that, anyway."

OK. I remember I promised that I would show you my Christmas Card. I have to tell you that the inspiration came straight from Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #125.
