Here we go again?

I am once again going to try to revive my poor blog.  I am not any longer affiliated with a particular stamping company.  It has been a rough couple of years.  My mother went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I am now a grandmother (Mimi) to a beautiful granddaughter who is now 9 months old.  I am once again enjoying my hobby and have broadened my horizons, stamp company wise.  That has been fabulous!

I thought I'd share the card I made for my MIL for her birthday.  It was fun to make and looks far more complex than it was.
I stamped a script stamp in blue, then stamped my medallion in VersaMark and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I then sponged the entire card with the same blue ink.  I hope you enjoyed looking.

Changes again...

First I want to thank you guys for sticking with me.  I know I have not been a very good blogger for some time now.  I'm hoping to change that and at least post once a month.  The last few years have been quite a challenge, but the sun is shining and I am again an independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

That being said, I am planning an event on the very first National Card Making Day, October 1, 2016.  With it being in October, can you guess what kind of cards I have in mind?  That's right. Halloween.

I'd love to hear from you.  About attending, with questions regarding the making of these cards, or just a friendly comment.  Remember, if I can stamp, you can, 2!

Some Changes in My Status

Hi Stampers.  I know I have not been very faithful about posting.  I have had some very time consuming things come up in my home life.  I have given up my Stampin' Up! demonstrator ship (at least for the time being) but I am still a paper crafter.

Things seem to be getting into a routine again around the house and I have had some time to play with my favorite medium - PAPER!!!

I created some cute Thank You gifts for some very supportive friends during my stressful time.  I used SU! Tag a Bag Gift Boxes, some retired papers and made some tags.  Then I filled them with homemade chocolate chip cookies.

I'm really pleased with how they turned out.  I hope you enjoyed looking at them and that they may inspire you to make something fun and cute yourself.  Remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

Hi Guys

Sorry it has been so long.  Life has just been busy!  Hope everyone had a lovely Holiday Season.  I spent much of my time off work cleaning stuff out and organizing.

That being said, I have a BUNCH of retired stamp sets I am selling.  I just need the space!

After a long sabbattical...

I know I have been gone for ever, but I'm still kicking.  It has just been a really busy summer.  We didn't sustain massive tornado damage, but did have to have a new roof and have our truck repaired.  We finally got our truck back Friday!

On to more fun topics.  Like stamping!!  The new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog is out and it has some great things in it.  One of them is banner kits.  Yes!  Kits!  The banners are made of canvas and have brass eyelets in them for stringing.  You can get a kit with stencils, and a couple of embellishment kits for decorating a banner for Halloween or Christmas.  I chose a couple of kits.  I just had to have the stencils and went with Halloween.

I had a blast putting this together.  I tried both spritzing and daubing ink on the background stencils.  Daubing worked better for me, but you may like spritzing.  The canvas pieces are 5"X7" and make quite a nice sized banner as you can see.

The Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit (132698 $9.99) comes with all kinds of fun things.  Paper and centers for 4 rosettes, w glittered die cut accents, 5 black faceted buttons, 5 Summer Starfruit buttons and ribbon galore!!

The kit with the stencils is called Build A Banner Simply Created Kit (133507 $19.99) comes with 18 canvas banners, 6 each of three designs, 9' of jute twine, a Stampin' Spritzer, and image and alphabet stencils.

You can also purchase more canvas banners (18) and twine with the Banner Simply Created Kit (132699 $9.99).

Click here to purchase the supplies to make your own banner!

Until next time, remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

Still ok in OK

The storms have been relentless here in Oklahoma.  Our family is all safe and our homes are intact.  I have to say our neighbors all came together yesterday and everyone worked together to clean up downed trees and limbs.  One lady cooked lunch for us all on her grill since we were without electricity.  It was amazing!  I will try to get back into the stamp room soon and bring you a project.  Stay safe and keep stamping.

Safe and Well

Hi Stampers.  I don't have a project to share today, but wanted any of you that might know we live in Moore, OK that my family and home are ok after the May 20 tornado that ravaged our fair city.  We have some clean up to do, but all of our family members are fine.  Please keep Moore, OK in your prayers.  There is much work to get things back to a semblance of normal.  Please also pray for the families that lost loved ones and/or their homes.

Fun on National Scrapbooking Day

Hi Stampers!  I hope you enjoyed National Scrapbooking Day.  I did! While I didn't actually scrap, I attended a meeting of local Demonstrators and learned some fun new techniques and tips and had a blast visiting and catching up with everyone.

One of the new techniques I learned was called Block Stamping.  I learned it from Margaret Raburn.  Here is the card I made using this technique.

photo

I used Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze and Early Espresso along with a touch of Whisper White and rhinestones to create this card.  Isn't that a great water colored background.  And it is EASY!!!  We will be creating this card in my May class here in the OKC metro area. Class will be on Sunday, May 19, 2013 2:30-4:30 pm and the fee for the class will be $15.  Give me a call or an email to reserve your spot.  Seating is limited.

I will have some great sneak peeks of projects made from new items in the 2013 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog do to go live on May 31!!!  You can email or call me now to reserve your copy of this catalog, too!

If you can't make it to class, but want to order the supplies for this card, I have set up a hostess code.  Just go to my website, tory.stampinup.net and place your order using hostess code Y7CVADG9.  I will draw a hostess from those that order to receive hostess benefits.  All you have to do is order.  Your stuff will come right to your door, so you don't have to be in OKC to order.  You do, however, have to live in the USA.  Stampin' Up! rules for ordering.  I will draw the lucky winner on Monday, May 27.  You will be notified by email and must have your hostess order to me no later than 10PM, Wednesday, May 29, 2013.

Ok stampers, until next time, remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

Stampin' Up!'s annual Retirement Lists are out!!!

It's that time of the stampin' year!  Getting ready for a brand new catalog.  The Stampin' Up! retirement list are out.  Click on the link below to see what's going and which of them are up to 60% off!

http://www.stampinup.com/us/enu/24077.asp

I know that some things we will all be sad to see go.  Remember that these are while supplies last, so if there is something on these lists that you've had your eye on, now is the time to get it!!!

Also, let me say, the new things in the upcoming catalog are FABULOUS!!!!  I got to take a sneak peek at it online and cannot wait to get my hands on a paper copy!

Now I'll show you a project I've been working on and what it led to...

I was working on this cute little box for Mother's Day.  It is made from our Craft Boxes.  I stamped it with the En Francais background stamp and added some of the die cut Delicate Doilies, Vintage Faceted Buttons and Organza ribbon.  I thought it turned out really cute.

Well, as it turns out, so did DD1.  She is going to a birthday party for one of her friends and after she saw the box I made, she asked me if I could make a similar one for her gift to her friend.  Only in purple and white.  No doilies.  This is what I came up with for her.  I used Elegant Eggplant (she picked the color) to cut out a box (so easy to make with the Simply Scored tool) and stamped it in white with the En Francais stamp.  The stamp was a tad smaller than the sides of the box, so I sponged all the edges to give it a feminine vintage look.  I tied Organza Ribbon around it then made a tag.  I stamped Whisper White with Elegant Eggplant, first with the stamp of writing in french from French Foliage (stamped off twice to mute the color) then with the "for you" stamp from Elements of Style.  I then punched it out with the Large Tag punch, used the 1/16 inch punch to make a hole and tied it to the ribbon with White Bakers Twine.  She loved it.  I'm sure her friend will, too!

Thanks for stopping by!  I'd love to hear from you if you liked this project.  Please leave a comment.  Until next time, remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!!!

Hi Stampers!  Can you belive it?  I know, right?!?  Another post so soon?  Well, just call me Butter cuz I'm on a roll.  Hahaha!  I crack myself up, sometimes!

I hope you enjoyed my first video.  I have jumped in the deep end and made another.  This one shows how simple it is to make a layered card.  Let me know what you think of this one.

I made a video

Hi Stampers!  Long time no see.  Sorry about that.  Life keeps getting in the way of my stamping time.  I finally took the plunge and shot a video.  I decided to start with some VERY basic instctions like cutting cardstock into a card base.  I'd love for you to take a look and let me know how you like it.  {but please be nice.  It is my first video...}

Having a Zombie Christmas

Hello Stampers!  I hope you all had a Merry Christmas.  We did at our house.  Then everyone came down with colds.  I'm hoping they go away before New Years Day!!

Back to Chistmas.  DD1 is mildly obsessed with zombies lately as seem to be most of the teen/young adult world.  Back in September or October I received my preorder for the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini.  I was playing around one day with the googlie eyes.  They were meant to go with a Halloween stamp set and they were SO cute that I wondered how they would look like on one of the Christmas stamp set.  Well, this has been in my head for quite some time and I finally got it out of my head and into a project.

I made my girlie her own Christmas card.  Gingerbread Zombie Apocalypse card.  HAHAHAH!  I put the googlie eyes on one of the gingerbread men from the Sentsacional Season stamp set.  It was kind of cute and creepy at the same time.  Kind of like Johny Depp as Willie Wonka...

Anyhow, this is what I came up with.

She loved it!  Let me know what you think.  Remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

Super Sweet Project

Hi Stampers!  Hope you have been doing well.  I have been busy at home, at work, and stamping/creating.  Today's project is a real treat.  I got the recipe from my upline Connie Stewart.  I was also inspired by her adornment of the projects.  You can see hers here.

Edited to let you know the recipe for the sugar scrub can be found on Connie's blog with the link above.

Here is my version of this wonderful Sugar Scrub.  I found some great 8 ounce Mason jars that are short and wide.  They are also wide mouthed so you can get your hand into them.  I thought they would be the prefect jars for sugar scrub.  I have some of the retired Stampin' Up! fabric called Vintage Springtime and it worked perfectly with the look I was after.

I am whipping these up to take to a craft fair, and for Christmas gifts for the females in my family and at the office!  Don't you think they are adorable?!?  Ok!  Until next time, remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!!!  And create great gifts!!!

New Blog Header

Check it out stampers!  I finally updated my blog header.  It was fun to design.  I used the Stampin' Up! digital project designer My Digital Studio 2.  It has some really great new features.  I didn't really use any here.  I like to keep things pretty simple most of the time.  What I really like is you can use as many of an embellishment as you like and NEVER RUN OUT!!!

Well, that's it for today.  I promise to have new projects to share soon.  I'm working on some great gift ideas.  Until next time, remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

Spooky Sponging (or September class)

Hi, Stampers!  What do you think of this cute little trio of projects?  Can you see what they all have in common?  That's right!  Sponging!!  I had a lot of fun thinking up the projects for my September class.  I guess you can tell it is Halloween themed.  And the technique focus this month is sponging.

Each of the projects has been sponged on the edges, the surface, or both.  It adds so much texture and depth to your projects and is quite simple. And so much fun!!!

If you'd be interested in making these three projects and having some fun with ink and sponges, join me for a class on Sunday afternoon, September 16, 2012 at 3pm.  The cost is $15 to make all three projects.  As always, space is limited, so please RSVP no later than 5pm on Friday, September 14th.  You can either email me at tabray@sbcglobal.net or call me.

Until next time, remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

Summer is gone, Hello Holidays

Well, summer is over for 2012.  The kids are back in school and it will cool off soon.  It's time to thing about the holidays.  It will be Halloween before you can blink.  Another breath and it will be Thanksgiving and then the next day will be Christmas.  Time to start working on those great projects for Halloween Treats, Thanksgiving Table Decor and Christmas everything.

Here is a Christmas Ornament I made the other day.  It was a lot of fun to make.  I'm hoping to have enough interest to teach a class.  Let me know if this is something that might interest you.  This class would be $55 but you would take home with you, a completed ornament, the Ornament Keepsakes stampset (clear-add'l $7 for woodmount), Holiday Ornament Framelits, 1 pk Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, and 1 pk Large Pearl Basic Jewels as well as the knowledge of how to make the ornament.  The product alone is valued at over $50!

I hope you enjoyed the photo.  Until next time, remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

Where has the Summer Gone?!?

Hi Stampers.  I know I have been gone far too long and I am so sorry!  The summer has been busy flying by and this weekend was Back to School Shopping!  AKKKK!!!

I have managed to squeeze in some stamping time here and there.  Here is a cute and fun project we made at my Upline's house last month.  It is a card holder with dividers inside!  It was so nice to get together with my other SU Demo friends and make a project!

I do have to run.  Until next time remember that if I can stamp, you can, too!!

Too Cute

Hi Stampers.  Sorry I have been gone.  It has been a long hard spring at my house.  My DH and I each lost a very dear friend this spring.  DH lost another friend and co-worker and my daddy passed away 2 weeks ago tomorrow.  Sorry for so much depressing news.  I will now move on to something fun.

Do you see the new die that will be in the new June annual catalog.  That's right the new catty will be out in June this year.  The retiring lists are out.  You can view them on my website at  tory.stampinup.net and order while you are there.  Remember the accessories are while supplies last.  Oh!  Don't freak out when you see all the stamp pads on the list.  SU! is coming out with a Firm Foam pad.  The colors will all be the same (except the 2010-2012 in colors will be gone), just the pad inside will be different.

Now, about the new die!!  Is that not a CA-UTE little purse?  It will hold about 4 nuggets.  I made mine from Sahara Sand card stock, ran it through the Square Lattice embossing folder before I assembled it and then added some bright punched flowers to make it look like a straw handbag.

Well, that's it for today.  I will try to keep things more current.  Until next time remember if I can stamp, you can, too!

March SU Stars Blog Hop

Hi Stampers!  Welcome to the SU Stars bloghop.  You may just have come from Stacy Coombs blog, www.stampinstace.blogspot.com .  She always has such cute projects.  If you started here, or get lost along the way, you can always find your place at the home page, http://su-stars.blogspot.com  .  This month's theme is My Digital Studio.  All the projects are created on My Digital Studio.

I opted for a card today.  I used Pool Party, Island Indigo, So Saffron and Whisper White.  The stamp brush sets are Baroque Motifs and Enjoy.   I added a white button to the middle of the "o" for interest and three white brads in the upper lefthand corner.  Simple but fun.

Have you tried My Digital Studio?  You can download it for FREE for a 30 day trial.  Just got to my website, tory.stampinup.net  and click on the shop now.

Ok.  Off you go to the next stop on the blog hop with Loni Holt at her blog, www.loniholt.blogspot.com .  Until next time, remember if I can stamp, you can ,too!

Birthday Bash Class

Hi Stampers!  I have been working on my latest class.  It will be on March 10 from 10:00 am to noon.  I themed it for birthdays.  I kinda went flower crazy, too.  I guess I'm ready for spring.  Anyhow, if you are in the greater OKC metro, give me a call if you'd like to attend this class.  I still have a few seats open.  The cost will be $15 and will include all supplies and a light snack.

Oh!  You'd like to see what the projects are?  Not a problem.  :)  We will made a pretty birthday card, a treat holder (the top will be attached.  I just haven't filled mine yet) and a gift card holder.

It's going to be a ton of fun!  You should call or email me now to reserve your spot!  Until next time, remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

Valentine Class Featuring "P.S. I Love You"

I am excited to offer a class for February.  Being the month for Valentines, I thought I would focus on one of the WONDERFUL stamp sets SU! is offering in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  This set is called P.S. I Love You.  In this class you will make the 4 items pictured to the left.  The cost will be $15 at the door or $10 if you pay in advance.  I do accept Pay Pal, cash or check.

I do need to have an accurate head count so that I can prepare materials.  Please email or call me if you are interested in attending this class.  Space is limited so I will be offering 2 sessions.  The first one will be 10am-noon Saturday, Feb 4, 2012 and the second will be 2-4pm on Sunday, Feb 5, 2012.

The class for Saturday, Feb 4th has been cancelled.  I have another obligation that day.  Sorry for any inconvience.  If you'd like to attend this clas, I do still have openings for Sunday, Feb 5.
This stamp set is a blast to play with and I can't wait to share these great projects with you!   Remember if I can stamp, you can, too!

A little late, but Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas, Stampers!  I know Christmas is past, but it was a busy time with family, friends and such.  I hope each one of you had a Merry Christmas and are headed into a wonderful New Year!  I wanted to share my personal Christmas card with you.  I almost didn't get them done and distributed in time.  Actually (guilty look) some of them didn't get sent out at all.  Oops!  I will try to do better next year.

I will also try to post a little more often this year.  It has been a bit of an adjustment with a second child in the house.  Hopefully we have that all set now.

That's it for today.  Remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

It's Begining to look a lot like Chrstmas

Good morning Stampers and welcome to the SU Stars Blog Hop.  This blog hop is all about Christmas decorating.  If you started from the begining, you probably came from  http://www.jaynestamps.com/ but if you are starting here, just follow the links and it will take you all the way through.  If you get lost, click here for a list of blogs on the hop.

I belong to a local group of stampers and we had our anual Christmas meeting'  We all make a gift with our Stampin' Up! products for a gift and then at the party we play Stampin' Santa.  It's a lot of fun and there are some awesome gifts.

I had a hard time deciding what to make.  Then inspiration struck!  I lollie (rosette, medallion or what ever you want to call them) wreat made of ...   VELLUM!  I hadn't seen one done this way yet and it seemed awsome.  I did use vellum cardstock so it woudl be sturdy.  I also used lots of shimmer mist, some rhinestones and some silver Glimmer Paper snowflakes.  I thought it turned out great!

I hope you enjoyed your visit here.  Remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!  Now off you go to visit www.stampindragon.blogspot.com  for more inspiration.

Nugget Turkeys with a new twist!

Hi Stampers!  I have been SO busy!  I have a craft fair this weekend, but I just had to show you my take on nugget turkeys for Thanksgiving.  I had seen nugget turkeys for a couple of years made with the scallop circle punch.  BUT - with lollies so popular, I decided to try to combine the two and here's what I came up with.

Isn't he the cutest thing?!?  A Hershey nugget wrapped in paper, a 1/2 lollie for a tail and a punch art face.  I made one for each guest having Thanksgiving dinner at my house this year, and made matching napkin rings.  It was so much fun.

Well back to my craft fair makings.  I promise to take photos and share later this month.  Until then, remember, if I can stamp, you can, too!

New Stocking Punch and Stamp Set

Hi Stampers!  I hope you have been enjoying your weekend.  I hope you had today off, too.  I've been relaxing and stamping this weekend.  I played with some new items that can be found in the Holiday Mini.  Too much fun!

Aren't they adorable?!?  See how versatile this set/punch can be?  You can use it all year long.  The baby booties are just cut and the top re-attached to make them shorter and the horse is turned upside down.  I just love it when you can use a stamp set or punch for other things!

That's it for today.  If you need these items, you can visit my online store at tory.stampinup.net or give me a call!  Enjoy the rest of the day and remember if I can stamp, you can, too!

Finally, Another Project Post

Hi Stampers.  My August has been (as my sister says) "going 90 with my hair on fire."  At least there is only about a week left of the hecticness.  (I hope.)  I did take some time and try a new technique.  I saw the name of these flowers, but can't recall it at the moment.

I made 12 flowers and glued them together into a ball.  I used some ribbon as a hanger and to add a little pizzaz.  Hope you like it.

This is all retired paper, but we do have some awesome new Christmas paper in the new Idea Book and Catalog.

Well, the hecticness is begining for today.  Just remember if I can stamp you can too!
